Qualify to Represent Australia in Las Vegas

Join the competition for your chance to compete at the World Tennis Esports Championships 2025 in Las Vegas, USA, featuring a $100,000 Prize Pool.

What is WTEC?

The World Tennis Esports Championships is the premier global VR tennis event, bringing together the top Tennis Esports competitors from around the world to compete for prestige, prizes, and the title of WTEC Champion. The 2025 edition will be held on September 9–10 at ‘The Space’ in Las Vegas, USA.

Key Highlights:

  • $100,000 Prize Pool (includes flight tickets, accommodation, cash prizes, Tennis Esports coin prizes, and more).
  • 16 total players will qualify and compete in Las Vegas.
  • 8 spots come from performance in TOUR events.
  • 8 spots come from national qualifying events (Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, India, UK & Ireland, United States, and Switzerland — one qualifying spot per country/region).

About the Australia Qualifiers

The Australia Qualifiers are run by the Australian Esports League (AEL). The national finals event will be held during Melbourne Oz Comic-Con on June 7–8.

Qualification Path:

  1. Online Qualifiers in May – Top 8 from online play advance to the live finals.
  2. National Finals at Oz Comic-Con – One player wins the Australian qualifying spot and heads to the WTEC in Las Vegas.

Travel Note:
While the AEL will provide ticket access to the national finals, qualifying players are responsible for their own travel and accommodation to Melbourne Oz Comic-Con.

  • Online Qualification: May 2025 (Exact dates TBA)
  • Top 8 Qualifiers Announced: Late May 2025
  • National Finals (Oz Comic-Con, Melbourne): June 7–8, 2025
  • WTEC Finals (Las Vegas): September 9–10, 2025

Player Eligibility & Requirements

To participate in the WTEC Australia Qualifiers, players must meet the following:

  1. Age: 18 years or older
  2. Nationality: Must be an Australian citizen with a valid Australian passport
  3. Tennis Esports ELO: Minimum ranking of 1,600
  4. Account Registration: Player must have a fully registered Tennis Esports account
  5. Discord Membership: Must join the official Tennis Esports Discord
  6. Agreements: Consent to all participation waivers and uphold sportspersonship standards
  7. Travel Availability: Must be able to attend the finals in Melbourne (June) and potentially travel to Las Vegas (September)
  8. Media Requirements: Submission of a short player portrait video and active social media engagement

What You Need to Play

  • VR Headset: A Meta Quest VR set
  • Tennis Esports Game: Available on Meta Quest
  • Tennis Esports Premium: Required for unlimited match challenges
  • Stable Wi-Fi: For online matches and qualifiers
  • Ample Play Space: Ideally a 3m x 3m area to swing safely

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Can anyone join the online qualifiers?
Yes, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria (age, ELO, etc.).

2. Do I need to pay any fees to participate?
Participation in the online qualifiers is free, but you need Tennis Esports Premium to play unlimited matches.

3. Will the AEL provide any assistance with travel for online qualifiers?
No. Online qualifiers can be played from home. However, if you qualify for the top 8 to go to Melbourne, you’ll be responsible for your own travel. The AEL will provide your event ticket.

4. What happens if I qualify but can’t travel to Melbourne or Las Vegas?
Your spot may be forfeited to the next eligible player in the standings if you cannot attend.

5. Is there a minimum ELO ranking to join?
Yes, you need a minimum ELO ranking of 1,600 in Tennis Esports.
