The World Tennis Esports Championships is the premier global VR tennis event, bringing together the top Tennis Esports competitors from around the world to compete for prestige, prizes, and the title of WTEC Champion. The 2025 edition will be held on September 9–10 at ‘The Space’ in Las Vegas, USA.

- 16 total players will qualify and compete in Las Vegas.
- 8 spots come from performance in TOUR events.
- 8 spots come from national qualifying events (Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, India, UK & Ireland, United States, and Switzerland — one qualifying spot per country/region).

National Finals: Live at Melbourne Oz Comic-Con (June 7, 2025)
The journey to the global stage culminates at the WTEC25 Australian National Finals, held live and exclusively at the AEL Melbourne Esports Showcase within Melbourne Oz Comic-Con on Saturday, June 7th 2025.
This premier event is the sole national qualifying stage. Competitors will battle it out in Tennis Esports to determine who will carry the Australian flag to the WTEC Global Finals.
The Grand Prize: Represent Australia in Las Vegas!
One skilled champion will emerge from the National Finals victorious. This player will secure the official Australian qualifying spot and win a trip to compete at the prestigious WTEC Global Finals in Las Vegas, USA, from September 9–10, 2025!
Player Information: Event Access & Travel
- Event Access: Players must have a valid Oz Comic-Con Melbourne pass.
- Travel & Accommodation: All competitors are responsible for arranging and funding their own travel to Melbourne Oz Comic-Con.

Player Eligibility & Requirements
To participate in the WTEC Australia Qualifiers, players must meet the following:
- Age: 18 years or older
- Nationality: Must be an Australian citizen with a valid Australian passport
- Tennis Esports ELO: Minimum ranking of 1,600
- Account Registration: Player must have a fully registered Tennis Esports account
- Discord Membership: Must join the official Tennis Esports Discord
- Agreements: Consent to all participation waivers and uphold sportspersonship standards
- Travel Availability: Must be able to attend the finals in Melbourne (June) and potentially travel to Las Vegas (September)
- Media Requirements: Submission of a short player portrait video and active social media engagement
Tournament Equipment provided
- All required VR equipment, computers and accessories are provided during the event at Melbourne Oz Comic-Con, you do not need to bring your own gear!
What You Need to Play at home and Practice
- VR Headset: A Meta Quest VR set
- Tennis Esports Game: Available on Meta Quest
- Tennis Esports Premium: Required for unlimited match challenges
- Stable Wi-Fi: For online matches and qualifiers
- Ample Play Space: Ideally a 3m x 3m area to swing safely

1. Can anyone join the online qualifiers?
Yes, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria (age, ELO, etc.).
2. Do I need to pay any fees to participate?
Participation in the online qualifiers is free, but you need Tennis Esports Premium to play unlimited matches.
3. Will the AEL provide any assistance with travel for online qualifiers?
No. Online qualifiers can be played from home. However, if you qualify for the top 8 to go to Melbourne, you’ll be responsible for your own travel. The AEL will provide your event ticket.
4. What happens if I qualify but can’t travel to Melbourne or Las Vegas?
Your spot may be forfeited to the next eligible player in the standings if you cannot attend.
5. Is there a minimum ELO ranking to join?
Yes, you need a minimum ELO ranking of 1,600 in Tennis Esports.
