About This Competition

Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 team-based objective game that emphasizes strategy over reflexes. Students step into the roles of iconic Super Heroes and Villains, but individual strength means nothing without coordination. The core mechanic is “Team Synergy”, combining unique abilities (like Iron Man’s flight with Hulk’s strength) to overcome opponents. It is a digital sport that rewards communication, role discipline, and collaborative problem-solving.

Marvel Rivals (Rated M) demands complex, real-time leadership. Students must constantly communicate to coordinate “Team-Up” abilities, manage objective timers, and adapt their team composition on the fly. It turns the “hero fantasy” into a structured lesson in interdependence and teamwork.

Format & Structure

  • League Phases: Week 1 features a Swiss style ranking round after in which teams are placed into divisions for Weeks 2-4, ensuring students are matched against opponents of similar skill levels each week.
  • Finals: The top-ranked teams progress to the elimination playoffs over Weeks 5-6, culminating in a National Grand Final.
  • Squad Size: Matches are played 6v6. Schools may register squads of 6 players (substitutes are allowed) and must ensure they can field a team every week.
