PLAYER INFORMATION

Users are required to forward accurate personal details when registering for the tournament. All personal information a user provides to the Australian eSports League must be accurate. Any information collected will be handled pursuant to our Privacy Policy.

STEAM IDS

We require all CS:GO users to play on their own Steam Account (and thus ID #) that is provided at registration for all matches.

You must provide your correct steam ID # or you will be ineligible to compete, this means that the number not the actual account name must be listed.

Steam accounts are the sole responsibility of the user. We are not responsible for any issues, problems or concerns regarding Steam accounts.

To find your steam id join any public server and be sure you have developer console enabled.

To check if developer console is enabled: (ESCAPE > Options > Keyboard > Advanced > Enable Developer Console)

Click the tilde key (~) on the keyboard, a console will pop-up where you will need to type the word (status) without the brackets and hit the return key on the keyboard. Information will be outputted in the console. Look for your name and copy the information. Please see the example below;

SPORTSMANSHIP

Users are required to uphold, observe and respect a reasonable level of sportsmanship. This level of sportsmanship is expected to be conducted prior to, during and after matches and during their general participation in Our tournaments. Unsportsmanlike conduct is not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, interactions with other teams and general abuse or non-compliance towards administrators, casters or spectators.

IN-GAME ALIASES / HANDLES

We require users to label themselves in matches with an in-game alias similar or distinguishable enough to the one they provided at registration. Inappropriate in-game aliases will not be tolerated, including names which have themes of discrimination, racism or sexism.

TEAM INFORMATION

The five participants that are provided at registration are considered the team’s main roster. A team must present a line-up of 4 core members to every official match throughout the season unless there are exceptional circumstances that have been communicated to and approved by administrators.

If there is a need for a substitute player, such circumstances and changes are subject to tournament staff’s discretion, and teams are expected to present evidence and reasoning for such cases.

Players are only allowed to play for one team for the tournament. This includes substitute players (i.e. a player may not substitute for two different teams, even within the same organisation).

Team names containing any of the following will not be tolerated: profanity, racism, sexism, drug use, silly or too big in size. Refusing to change a team name or repeat use of an inappropriate name will result in punishment. Teams may not use the name of a team in which is not theirs.

PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES

All users in every match must record a Point of View demo of their match. Failing to produce a Point of View demo when it has been officially requested may result in punishment. Submitting only partial Point of View demos may also result in punishment. PoV demos may be randomly requested for no reason by a CS:GO administrator. Players must retain their POV for at least six months, and it can be requested at any period during this time.

Recording a PoV demo in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

  1. Ensure Developer Console in enabled (ESCAPE > Options > Keyboard > Advanced > Enable Developer Console)
  2. Connect to your match
  3. Open Developer Console (by default ~` key (above TAB))
  4. Type ‘record your_desired_name’
  5. Disconnect from server to stop recording or type ‘stop’ in Developer Console

ONLINE QUALIFIER FORMAT

Saturday 12th August

Single Elimination Bracket One Day Competition (ODC)

Teams will be randomly placed into a best of one (BO1) Single Elimination Bracket. Only the top two teams left will advance to Sunday to join the other 6 teams who were advanced to group stage.

Teams that have been advanced to Sunday will be notified ahead of time and be posted for the public to see.

Sunday 13th August

Top 8 Groups Stage

The top 8 teams will be divided into two groups where they will play in a BO1 round robin within their group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.

Semi-finals

Team 1 from group A will play Team 2 from group B, Team 2 from group A will play Team 1 from group B in a best of 3 format where the winner from each match will advance to the Grand Finals.

MAP SELECTION

The map pool for the tournament is:

  • de_Cache
  • de_Cobblestone
  • de_Mirage
  • de_Nuke
  • de_Overpass
  • de_Train
  • de_Inferno

VETO PROCESS

Single Elimination (BO1)

Higher seeded teams will pick who bans first out of the map pool that is listed on the AEL website. The map pool can also be found under the heading of Map Selection in the ruleset. Veto for the BO1 Single Elimination will consist of 6 bans. Once 6 bans have been made it will result in the map that is to be played. This will be done for each match.

Top 8 Groups

Higher seeded teams will pick who bans first out of the map pool that is listed on the AEL website. The map pool can also be found under the heading of Map Selection in the ruleset. Veto for the BO1 Top 8 will consist of 6 bans. Once 6 bans have been made it will result in the map that is to be played. This will be done for each match.

Semi-Finals (BO3)

Higher seeded teams will pick who bans first out of the map pool that is listed on the AEL website. The map pool can also be found under the heading of Map Selection in the ruleset. Veto for the BO3 Semi-finals will consist of 4 bans total. The process will take place as follows ( an example of Team A Banning first): A Ban / B Ban / B Pick / A Pick / A Ban / B Ban. The net result will have both teams banning a total for 4 maps, picking 2 maps to play and leaving 1 map leftover which is to be played as required.

Grand Final (BO3)

A coin toss will take place with the winner of the toss electing to either ban first or have the other team ban first. The map pool can also be found under the heading of Map Selection in the ruleset. Veto for the BO3 Semi-finals will consist of 4 bans total. The process will take place as follows ( an example of Team A Banning first): A Ban / B Ban / B Pick / A Pick / A Ban / B Ban. The net result will have both teams banning a total for 4 maps, picking 2 maps to play and leaving 1 map leftover which is to be played as required.

MATCHES

Admins will work with teams to arrange matches that best suit both teams, however, teams may be provided with suggested days and times where teams will need to make themselves available. If an agreement cannot be made, teams will have the option to play with at least 4 registered members or accept a forfeit for their match.

MATCH GAME PLAY

Matches must be played with the MR15 ruleset. In the event of MR15 overtime, MR3 rounds will be played until a winner is determined. A match is completed when a winner is determined. All matches must be played out in full.

MR15 Format

  • Two fifteen round halves
  • First to sixteen rounds wins
  • Fifteen / Fifteen round tie results in MR3 Overtime

MR3 Overtime Format

  • $10,000 Starting Money
  • Two three round halves
  • First to four rounds
  • Three / Three round tie results in MR3 Overtime until a winner is decided

MATCH START TIME

Users must be present and accounted for within five minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. There will be a grace period of five minutes after the match starting time. Any further time will be granted solely at the discretion of an administrator. As such, it is recommended that you are ready to play at least ten minutes prior to your match time.

PAUSES

Tactical

Each team has 4 (four) 30 (thirty) second pauses per map. To call for a tactical pause; Hit the escape key and select the voting option for a tactical pause. Please be sure to inform the other team.

Technical

Each team is allowed to call for technical pauses at any-time. To call for a technical pause; Players must type ‘.pause’ in the chat.

SMURFING

Smurfing is the use of a player who is not eligible or allowed to play a specific match.

Smurfing is not allowed. If a user is going to be playing from a different location (e.g. Internet Cafe) they are required to make an administrator aware of this.

PLAYER CONNECTIONS

Player connections are solely the responsibility of the individual. Should an issue arise regarding widespread connection problems to the server, then the match is rescheduled, canceled or postponed. This decision is made at the discretion of the administration team.

SUBSTITUTES

Teams may add one (1) substitute player to their team for use during the entire online portion of the tournament. Substitute players need to be registered with an admin prior to their match starting. No team may bring in a substitute player that hasn’t been pre-approved by an admin.

Substitute players will not be allowed to play in the LAN portion of the tournament.

Admins retain the right to allow substitute players in the LAN portion of the tournament if extenuating circumstances arise.

CHEATING

Cheating will not be tolerated. The offender will forfeit all matches for the current tournament.
